FAQs
I’m not sure if my child needs EF coaching…
There’s nothing more frustrating than watching a child who has so much to offer struggle with the typical tasks and functions of everyday life. Your child may very well want and have the potential to do what’s required but just doesn’t know how. We can help!
How will you measure progress?
Measuring progress in executive functioning skills can be done through various methods that formally and informally assess different aspects of cognitive abilities and behaviors. We can discuss this in greater detail on a complimentary discovery call!
How long does the process take?
It’s not a sprint! It’s a marathon. The duration of working with an executive functioning coach can vary based on the child's needs, goals, and progress. The ultimate goal is for the child to develop sustainable skills that they can apply without ongoing coaching. As a result, the coaching duration can vary, with some children benefiting from a few months of coaching and others from a longer engagement.
What is the difference between coaching and tutoring?
Coaching and tutoring are both forms of support aimed at helping individuals improve their skills, but they differ in their focus, approach, and goals. Tutoring is primarily focused on academic subjects and helping individuals understand and master specific subject matter, such as math or science. Coaching is broader and often focuses on personal development, goal-setting, and skill enhancement in various life domains, including academic and personal. The main goal of coaching is to help individuals clarify their goals, develop strategies, and build skills to achieve their desired outcomes.

Do you communicate with the child’s parents and teachers to ensure success across the board?
Of course. Our process is holistic in its view of child development. Collaboration with parents and teachers is crucial. The extent of collaboration will vary depending on the child’s needs.
